This page explains how SOLIF handles audio, data, and diagnostics. If anything is unclear, contact us.

Does audio leave the device?
No. Audio is recorded and transcribed locally on your Mac using an on-device speech-to-text model. Audio is not uploaded to any server.
Is audio stored? Where? For how long?
Audio is kept temporarily on your device only for the duration of transcription. Recordings are stored as a temporary file in the app’s local temp/app-support directory and are deleted automatically after transcription completes. Optional debug modes may allow saving recordings if you explicitly enable them.
Is telemetry collected?
No. The app does not collect analytics or usage telemetry.
Are crash logs collected?
By default, no. Crashes may appear in macOS system crash reports on your device, but the app does not automatically upload crash logs anywhere.
Any third-party services?
No third-party cloud services are required to use the app. The app includes open-source components (e.g., whisper.cpp) for on-device transcription. Update delivery (if enabled) may use your chosen hosting provider (e.g., GitHub Releases or your website).
Any network calls?
The core dictation flow works fully offline. Network access is only used for optional features like checking for and downloading app updates (via Sparkle) and downloading models if you choose to add that later.
